About Us

Save Big Elk Creek is a grassroots organization co-founded by Anteia Consorto and Carmela Ciliberti to advocate for the permanent protection of Big Elk Creek as a low-impact preserve, consistent with its history as part of the White Clay Creek Preserve corridor and the terms of its public acquisition.

Our Mission

Our mission at Save Big Elk Creek is to ensure the effects of recreational opportunities remain low impact to preserve the beauty of the park and its non-developed status.  Through these efforts we will preserve the biodiversity and natural areas while providing access for low impact recreational use.

Through education, advocacy, and litigation, future generations will know the beauty of this precious resource.

from the Pennsylvania Constitution, Article I, Section 27:
"The people have a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and esthetic values of the environment. Pennsylvania's public natural resources are the common property of all the people, including generations yet to come. As trustee of these resources, the Commonwealth shall conserve and maintain them for the benefit of all the people."
